Recipe of the Week: Gluten Free Banana Pancakes

Gluten free banana pancakes

I was going to wait until pancake day to write about these, but after eating them this morning I couldn't wait to share them. My friend Amb showed me these pancakes a few years ago and they are so easy and delicious and the perfect way to start the day.

Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 1 egg
- cinnamon or mixed spice
- whatever toppings you want (e.g blueberries, yoghurt, maple syrup)

Method:
- Mush the banana in a bowl.
- Add in the egg and mix into a smooth texture.
- Add in a pinch of the cinnamon and stir.
- heat up a pan with butter or coconut oil and use a large spoon to dollop some of the mixture in. You don't want these dollops to be too big- think the size of drop scones.
- let them fry for a couple minutes on each side before transferring to a plate.
- Top with whatever you like, I find they really work with other fruits like frozen berries or extra banana
- Serve!

That's literally all there is to it. These are a healthy alternative to the glutenous traditional pancake and would make a great addition to pancake day. They're made of simple house hold ingredients and are a great way to get children to eat some fruit along with tasting really yummy.

The Best of Green Lanes

Green Lanes is basically my second home; my three best friends live there so I'm pretty much in the area all the time. It's one of my favorite areas in London and I think if you don't know about it it's time to get to know. Expect to find quirky bars and the best of London's Turkish restaurants in this jam packed place. I've decided to write about my two favorite bars, along with my two favorite restaurants and two of the best green spaces in lovely London.  Kick starting with my three fave bars along Green Lanes... 1) Brouhaha  You gotta laugh at the title but this small bar makes a fantastic cocktail and date spot. It's got a roof terrace which is incredible in summer, however it shuts at 8pm so get there early to enjoy the sunset and a cocktail. They also have a sushi restaurant in the back which is delicious and affordable. I think they've made a genius decision there: cocktails and sushi- what could be better?  2) Bun and Bar This p...

Why clearing out your Facebook is important

Since it's snowing I'm sure we've all had many cosy days in, but the films are running out and we've drunk our body weight in tea so what should we do now? I've taken this opportunity (also known as snow day 4.0) to clear out my Facebook by which I mean deleting a load of people. Sometimes I look at the amount of friends I have on Facebook (1024) and it's like I definitely don't have that many friends in real life. Who are these people and why are they allowed to see all my content so casually? With social media it's so easy to be exposed so I think you need to divide up your platforms and decide what the purpose of each one is. I keep Instagram public but Snapchat and Facebook are definitely more personal and private. But then is my Facebook really private with a good 700 people I probably don't even know on it? This is why clearing out Facebook occasionally is very important. I don't want people who don't know me seeing private photos a...
