Could We Be in a Fourth Wave of Feminism?

With amazing movements like the Time's Up Now and #MeToo movement, the end of 2017 and start of 2018 has seen some amazing protest regarding women's rights. I was talking with my friend Jessie and we were saying there's definitely a sense of change in the air.. you can feel it. It feels like 2018 is the time for sexual harassment, domestic abuse, assault and inequality to end. Women and men across the globe have been sharing their stories, protesting and supporting each other and the words 'self love' have never seemed more important.

It seems people have had enough of the abuse and inequalities women face on a daily basis and it's time for feminism to lose the bad name. It should never have had a bad name in the first place but its time to unlearn the backwardness of the past and move forward. It's time to relearn respect for human beings no matter their gender, sex, race, class, age etc and to follow that simple rule you learn when you're like four: treat others how you would like to be treated.

Social media has had a great role to play in these amazing protests; it's aided the movements and given people a voice showing how we are progressing. It's a shame that we've had to move through so many feminist waves to get to this point. However, what the women of the first, second and third waves did was so crucial for the fight for equality and is even more motivation for the movements that are happening now. There's still a lot to be done for women's rights but things certainly feel like they're heading in the right direction.

5 Cheese Shops Every Cheese-a-holic should head to

As someone who is obsessed with cheese I have spent a fair amount of time sussing out London's most fabulous cheese mongers. There are so many to bring up, but I thought I would go with the five that I return to most frequently. So at number 1: Paxton and Whitfield. Dating back to the 1700s, Paxton and Whitfield is London's oldest cheese shop and stocks amazing cheeses from around the world. I come here annually to buy cheese for Christmas day, and I am unashamed to admit it's probably one of my favorite expeditions of the year. They serve something for everyone from creamy goats cheese to smack you in the face blues. The range is extensive and the staff are happy to help you pick the perfect cheeses to match your pallet and the occasion. Number 2: La Fromagerie. Based in Highbury and Mayfair this cheese shop holds an authentic feel and is the first experience I'd had of a cheese shop. I go to the one in Highbury and Islington as it's local to me and I never...

My Birthday Weekend in Brighton

Luckily for me I have an incredible best friend who was thoughtful and lovely enough to take me away to Brighton for the weekend before my birthday.  I have to admit, I tend to be pretty sceptical of leaving London as I only just moved back and am having a blast. However this weekend blew me away and taught me that it's good to have a break from the big city sometimes.   The main event of our trip was going for a tea for two, something that I never really thought would be offered gluten free yet my friend, Amber, managed to find an incredible coeliac friendly one.  We went to a vegetarian restaurant called Terre De Terre which is a few yards from the sea front. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely and they seated us outside under a golden yellow sun shader. We requested the gluten free tea for two which is 100% coeliac friendly and comes with one savoury plate, three sweet tiers, a glass of prosecco and a tea all for £30.  I cannot begin ...

Chilli Con Carne

I love Chilli Con Carne, for me it's one of the ultimate comfort foods for when I'm feeling blue at Uni. It's really easy to make and doesn't cost too much either and you can get really creative with how you make it. Ingredients:  -1 pack of beef mince meat - 2 white onions - 4 cloves of garlic - 1 carton of passata  - 1 tin of red kidney beans - salt and pepper - garlic powder - smoked paprika - regular paprika - ceyane pepper - cumin powder - one cube of beef stock - red wine  Side options:  - avocado - red onion - fresh coriander - cheddar cheese - sour cream Method:  - Start by chopping your onions and put them in a frying pan on a low heat. Mince the garlic and add in.  - When the onions have softened add the mince meat and put some salt and pepper on it.  - Once the meat is cooked chuck the passata in and start to season with the garlic powder, ceyane pepper, cumin, paprika and a little bit of s...
