Beautiful Belgravia

I've always associated Belgravia with Victoria Coach Station and whoever's been there knows how depressing a place that can be. However I went there today for a pop up exhibition on Frida Kahlo and ended up exploring the area and just in time for the Chelsea flower show and have been completely balled over with this place.

The exhibition I went to was at 141 Ebury Street which is just around the corner from the coach station. I would highly recommend going before it closes on the 16th of June. It is the perfect warm up to the Frida Kahlo exhibition which is coming to the V&A soon and I am pumped. This pop up is meant to replicate Frida's parlor; you enter a room covered in green flowery wall paper which makes a banging selfie and lovely depiction of what her living room might have looked like.

You then enter a room that is supposed to replicate her dining room. It's covered in electric blue and striking yellow and full of cacti, tiles and ceramics to replicate her home in Mexico. This was such a thought out and neat depiction of what her home might have been like and I thought it was a gorgeous space to be in.

After the exhibition I stopped off for a cuppa in Peggy Porschen's Cakes. This place has had a major hype around it based on it's stunning floral displays and delicious cakes. I only had a cup of tea but it was a nice space to sit in and people watch.

I then ventured further down Ebury Street to come across some of the shop displays that have been put up for the Chelsea Flower show. These displays were honestly incredible and I feel so lucky that I caught them by chance. From rose buds to birds of paradise, I'm pretty sure you could find any flower you wanted along here. These people really go all out with the displays, putting up temporary trees, orchards and other 3D pieces and I was so so impressed.

Once I'd gawped at all the flowers I went around the block for a wander and ended up going down Ebury Mews. This cute, cobbled street made me feel like I was in a whole other country. There were no cars to be heard, the houses had shutters, flowers and were colorful like those you find in Spain. I honestly felt so happy and peaceful just walking along this small road.

That's as far as my exploring went as I wanted to go and find a park to read my book (trying to tick off those bucket list things I was talking about). I decided to go to Regents Park but Hyde Park or Green Park are super near to this area if you wanted to stick around.

This area is such a lovely place to be in and other than the cup of tea, my afternoon was completely free. We're so blessed to live in a city where we can venture to places we haven't seen before and have lovely afternoons like today. Go check out the exhibition, the area and the jaw dropping flower show if you get the opportunity- it's not one to miss!

5 Cheese Shops Every Cheese-a-holic should head to

As someone who is obsessed with cheese I have spent a fair amount of time sussing out London's most fabulous cheese mongers. There are so many to bring up, but I thought I would go with the five that I return to most frequently. So at number 1: Paxton and Whitfield. Dating back to the 1700s, Paxton and Whitfield is London's oldest cheese shop and stocks amazing cheeses from around the world. I come here annually to buy cheese for Christmas day, and I am unashamed to admit it's probably one of my favorite expeditions of the year. They serve something for everyone from creamy goats cheese to smack you in the face blues. The range is extensive and the staff are happy to help you pick the perfect cheeses to match your pallet and the occasion. Number 2: La Fromagerie. Based in Highbury and Mayfair this cheese shop holds an authentic feel and is the first experience I'd had of a cheese shop. I go to the one in Highbury and Islington as it's local to me and I never...

My Birthday Weekend in Brighton

Luckily for me I have an incredible best friend who was thoughtful and lovely enough to take me away to Brighton for the weekend before my birthday.  I have to admit, I tend to be pretty sceptical of leaving London as I only just moved back and am having a blast. However this weekend blew me away and taught me that it's good to have a break from the big city sometimes.   The main event of our trip was going for a tea for two, something that I never really thought would be offered gluten free yet my friend, Amber, managed to find an incredible coeliac friendly one.  We went to a vegetarian restaurant called Terre De Terre which is a few yards from the sea front. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely and they seated us outside under a golden yellow sun shader. We requested the gluten free tea for two which is 100% coeliac friendly and comes with one savoury plate, three sweet tiers, a glass of prosecco and a tea all for £30.  I cannot begin ...

Chilli Con Carne

I love Chilli Con Carne, for me it's one of the ultimate comfort foods for when I'm feeling blue at Uni. It's really easy to make and doesn't cost too much either and you can get really creative with how you make it. Ingredients:  -1 pack of beef mince meat - 2 white onions - 4 cloves of garlic - 1 carton of passata  - 1 tin of red kidney beans - salt and pepper - garlic powder - smoked paprika - regular paprika - ceyane pepper - cumin powder - one cube of beef stock - red wine  Side options:  - avocado - red onion - fresh coriander - cheddar cheese - sour cream Method:  - Start by chopping your onions and put them in a frying pan on a low heat. Mince the garlic and add in.  - When the onions have softened add the mince meat and put some salt and pepper on it.  - Once the meat is cooked chuck the passata in and start to season with the garlic powder, ceyane pepper, cumin, paprika and a little bit of s...
